Case Study: Supermarket Chain
This case study involves implementing a POS system for a large supermarket chain with multiple outlets, hundreds of thousands of sales, and complex promotion structures with multiple vendors.Challenge
The supermarket chain with outlets handling hundreds of thousands of sales records over the weekend required a comprehensive system to track and control a large number of inventory and equally large number of daily orders.
The previous Supermarket system was not able to facilitate complex promotion structures providing for vendor-led promotions, time-based and day-based promotions, and multiple selection volume and value discounts. The retailers had to remember to adjust prices at the appropriate timeslots and days, remembering specific products for promotions. This caused slow changes in pricing and promotion updates which affected sales at peak hours.
Solution
Retail One POS was able to provide for their promotion requirements and handle multiple groupings for brands, product types, value consideration, volume consideration, and even date-time based events such that once the promotion has been set up, it would be automatically put into place at the right time.
Retail One POS is able to track inventory & costs allowing for fast access to both customer & vendor history.
